The person behind the place

Mr Frodd’s is the Lagos restaurant founded by Frodd, the Nigerian entertainer and former Big Brother Naija housemate. At the centre of the brand is a person audiences already recognise.

The identity makes that connection visible. A chef mascot built around Frodd’s likeness brings the founder into the restaurant’s visual world: smiling, in chef whites, holding a spatula, framed by a flame.

A face the brand can carry

The chef mascot

We designed the restaurant’s logo and mascot. The wordmark combines a handwritten “Mr” with bold yellow lettering and places the illustrated chef at its centre. The mascot also works as a larger standalone image, giving the restaurant a character it can carry into its communications.

A second name for the grill

We also designed the identity for Meating Point, the operation’s meat-focused subsidiary, serving suya, grilled chicken and other meat dishes. Its expressive lettering is threaded by a skewer, with flames and drips bringing the grill into the mark. Charcoal, cream and red give this part of the business its own visual character.

In use

Both businesses operate with these identities. Public venue footage shows the restaurant’s illuminated sign carrying the wordmark and chef mascot, while its window blinds display Mr Frodd’s and Meating Point together. Those applications provide a direct view of the identities in the restaurant.

Bringing it to life

New packaging and motion studies extend the identity for portfolio presentation and future social use. The new motion film begins with Frodd’s illustrated grin, pulls back to the chef and flame, then carries that energy into a kinetic wordmark reveal, ending with the restaurant’s tagline.

These new studies are presented as proposed applications. They are separate from the documented installed branding and have not yet been approved or deployed by the client.

A separate portrait treatment keeps the chef intact and gives the reconstructed vector flame independent movement.
